Disclaimer/Agreement ---------------------------------- 1. INTRO Thank you for downloading SharkSwipeTH: the ultimate quick launcher for your CLIE TH-55! Coming from an extensive public beta period where numerous features were added and flaws corrected, SharkSwipe has been tested time and again to make sure it will work just the way you want it to, when you want it to. ----------------------------------- 2. Installation To install SharkSwipeTH, just double click the SharkSwipeTH.prc file in this folder and HotSync your device. It will appear in your default launcher. ----------------------------------- 3. Features/Guide NOTE: This section tells you about the features of the application itself and how to use them. Refer to the next section, Use, for information about how the swipes and processing work. SharkSwipe allows you to launch any application/DA just by performing a swipe in the Status Bar (i.e. from the Home icon to the left). It also allows you to perform the following system functions: :Power Off (Turns off the handheld) :HotSync (the same as pushing the HotSync button) :Lock (Locks and turns off the handheld) :CmdBar (Pops up system command bar) :Last App (Launches the last application you were using) :Keyboard (Pops up system keyboard dialog) NOTE: ONLY WHEN YOU ARE IN A TEXT FIELD :Brightness (Pops up the brightness adjust dialog) :Prev Field (Moves to previous field in app) :Next Field (Moves to next field in app) :Recent Apps (Displays a list of recently launched apps) :Show Swipes (Pops up a message box of assigned swipes) (NOTE: To pop up the system command bar just tap the gray line in your status bar 2/3 of the way over to the right with SharkSwipe enabled) I've been told the SharkSwipe UI is very simple, and I must tend to agree. Here's how to assign an application (in this case the Calculator) to a swipe (in this case the Menu right) in a few simple steps: 1) Select the icon on the right (choose Menu) 2) Find the swipe preference you want to change on the left (in this case Right) 3) Tap the popup next to the label "Right:", scroll down to Calculator, and tap it. There you go, you've just set a right swipe from the menu icon to launch Calculator! Not so hard, was it? lol In case the other options on screen don't make sense, here's what they are: -Enable on Reset?: If checked, the swipes will work even after a soft reset. Otherwise, you'll have to open up SharkSwipe and manually tap the Enable button lol. Either way it's not much work. -Enable/Disable: Lets you choose whether or not swipes are enabled. If something doesn't work, make sure Enable is highlighted before emailing support ;-) -The "i" icon: Registration info -The "?" icon: Help Menu: Options... -Tweak: Lets you tweak your swipe settings (the > the number, the less strict the swipe) -Last App: Select apps to be excluded from the :Last App action -Reset Prefs...: Reset your preferences (swipe tweaking, etc...) -Import Swipes: Allows you to select a memo from which to import settings -Export Swipes: Export swipe settings to Memo Pad -Register: Brings up the Registration form (same as pressing the "i" button) Menu: Help: Help- Brings up help forms --------------------------------------- 4. Use Once you've enabled SharkSwipe and got some swipes configured, you'll see how powerful SharkSwipe's pen movement recognition logic is. Swipes don't get confused with each other, and even short swipes (6-10 pixels in length) are recognized with ease. Also, with other competing applications you may have noticed a huge slowdown when it was enabled. SharkSwipe uses powerful ARM code (thanks CliePet!) to move through the events with amazing speed. If you didn't understand that last sentence it doesn't matter, because SharkSwipe will STILL be blazingly fast! ---------------------------------------- 5. Memo Import/Export Starting with v1.7 SharkSwipe allows you to import and export your swipe assignments. This allows for lots of new possibilities, and you can even "swap swipes" with friends! If you're not interested in the specifics of how the import/export works, you can feel free to skip this section and just know the following: 1) To export your assignments, go to Menu->Options...->Export Swipes 2) To import, copy the memo to the Palm you want to make the assignment changes to, and choose Menu->Options...->Import Swipes. Then, choose the memo which has the info and tap Import! For people who might like to generate their own custom configs: The following describes the syntax for a swipe assignment memo: Swipes Config: (example: HOME or FIND) (example: Up: Address Book) ... (more swipes) ... (more swipes) 1) The first line MUST be "Swipes Config:" (without the quotes) 2) In any order you choose, the rest must be in the following format: 3) The possibilities for Swipe direction are: Up Left Right diagL diagR 4) You DON'T need to include every swipe and every button. Just what you'd like. However, it MUST be in the above format. If you are a registered user you can send an email to support@ludustech.com and ask us to verify that your syntax is correct. ---------------------------------------- 6. Purchasing To buy, go to the site you downloaded SSTH from, search for SharkSwipeTH, and click buy. Disclaimer/Agreement In all of my and others' testing of this application, there was never a bug causing a reset or something major like that. However, that certainly does not mean there's nothing wrong with it as bugs have the potential to pop up whenever they'd like to.
